Hello Parents,
On the grade reports that were sent home with the 6th grade, there was a mistake made on my part. The 6th graders last assessment consisted of 15 questions worth for a total of 15 points. Whereas the 7th graders' quiz was 15 questions worth for a total of 24 points.
I made a mistake and clicked in powerschool both the 6th + 7th grade and consequently students who earned 14 /24 which is a" F" in reality should have been marked as 14/15 which is an "A".
It is a quick fix in powerschool but I understand how going home with a "F" is never a pleasant affair. I often tell the students that we all make mistakes and when you do acknowledge it, then fix it by doing better the next time.
So I apologize for the error and will do better next time.
The last quiz of the 1st Quarter is next Friday. I will do better then.

Students' final assessment of the FIRST QUARTER will be next THURSDAY due to a field trip on Friday, October 25th.
The last day of the quarter is NOVEMBER 5th.

Students in 6th grade continued developing their skill of dividing fractions.
Students in 7th grade continued developing their skill of dividing integers when p>0 or p<0 and q>0.
ALL STUDENTS RECEIVED THEIR GRADE REPORT FOR MATH today.
Their homework is to have their parent/guardian sign and write their phone number on the grade report and return it on Thursday.

The phrase of the day was "Show Me The Proof"
Students should be able to articulate why 1/3 > 1/5 and on next week's bi-weekly assessment they will be allowed to use their math notebook during the quiz. So in preparation for this, there will be a notebook check tomorrow.
Parents, PowerSchool is almost up and running and as soon as it is I will be sending home a progress report home so you can see what your student's grades are thus far in this first term.
